Izo's Lover! · review
One of those series that aren't really bad, but neither are good. Izou is a high schooler and is facing his fate of dealing with medieval courtesan who cursed his great-great-grandfather and now returned as a demon to fulfill her unrequired love. In short, it's like Urusei Yatsura but with ghosts and demons instead of aliens. Art is heavily stylized but also chaotic. Tiring to read. Story done a million times which is generic slapstick/ecchi/action/romance/whatever. Characters are one dimensional, flat, and changing on a whim to allow joke or "drama action" to happen. Felt a lot like an attempt to make series which could get a cartoon adaptation. Soulless. Not the worst, but feels stale.
