Review of Amnesia

Story: I have heard that this anime is supposed to be shit because it's one of those reverse harems based off a otome game. To be honest, I would expect this anime to annoy the living shit out of me because I don't want to watch the game; I wanna play it. Unfortunately, since I am from the United States, this is the best that I got. I'm just gonna straight up say that it could've been a whole lot worse. As the story went along, especially the last arc, it definitely got more interesting. It gave us more reason about why the story ishappening the way it is. Is it the best? Probably not. Is it shitty? Not as much as haters made it out to be. You don't have to agree with me, but because I don't wanna spoil too much, I would give this a 7/10 just to be nice.

Art: The art style was definitely an interesting choice since they were basing this off the game it came from. The colors were what struck me the most. In such a dull world, each character had a color (or colors) to represent themselves (well, mostly whatever shape was on a playing card). It wasn't as out of place as I expected to be, and because this is a fantasy game, it does seem to fit with the setting strangely enough. Honestly, I love Orion's designs the best. He's just so cute. However, there are sometimes creepy imagery that I feel as if doesn't need to exist, but it's not a huge complaint. With that, I'll rate it 9/10.

Sound: The opening is good. I mean it's on my favorite's list, but it's pretty low on it. It's not bad, but it's something I would skip sometimes. I just skip the ending all together because it never appealed to me at all. Then, there's the inside music. It's over the top for no reason except the fourth arc. I don't understand why. Compared to other anime, it's a bit subpar, which is why it's 4/10.

Character: I think the best way I can explain character is rating every single one in simple phrases.
Heroine: She's not as bad as I thought she would be. She just lost her memory, so what do you expect her to do when she's going through this jacked up mess? There are times when she can be fucking incompetent, but if anything, she's trying her best to get by.
Orion: I just wished that he was more relevant to this story, but unfortunately, he's not. That doesn't make him bad, but it makes him less important than what the anime made him to be in the posters, which shouldn't be true. He is the reason why the Heroine is going through this journey in the first place, but he disappears? Why?
Shin: My favorite out of the boys. He just seems to show the most emotion for our Heroine, and they seemed the perfect fit. I wanted to see more of them together, but you don't.
Kent: His arc is the most boring. This guy is supposed to be the smart one, and boy, is that his only trope.
Ikki: His is the second boring but the side story is the most dramatic. Perhaps too overly dramatic.
Toma: This character pissed me off to the umpteenth degree. This guy was completely over the top in his arc for no reason at all. I can't like this guy at all. I just can't.
Ukyo: This guy was very interesting. He appears a lot, but I can't spoil too much without ruining the anime.
Side characters: They are decent, but they're not really the main focus, so they are the least interesting of the bunch.
The overall rating for this section would be a 7/10.

Enjoyment: Like I said, this anime wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. However, am I obsessed with this show? Probably not. I kinda used this as background noise to whenever I was doing homework. My favorite arc was Shin's because he was my favorite boy out of the group, so I would say, this part is going to be rated 7/10.

Overall: It's easy to say that I was trying to be nice with this anime. I really tried by best to be fair, but the score is the score after all. That's why I'm giving this a rounded up 7/10. If you are not a fan of reverse harems or anything based off of otome games, this is definitely not for you...or at least it's not the best I've seen. By the way, THE DUB IS ACTUALLY NOT THAT BAD! It makes it more tolerable than anything else.
