Milk House Dreaming: Ai no Shiki · review
It's called Milk House "Dreaming" for a reason... it makes you want to fall asleep! Joking aside, this is an interesting piece, with some nice songs by Taeko Onuki set to a slideshow of pretty manga pictures (and some panels). The film is divided into 4 parts, with each part corresponding to a different season. There is a slight amount of animation, particularly in between each season, where we see two chibi characters doing something comical. There are also some live-action images of waves, sunsets, etc., with manga character art in the foreground. Some of the manga images get shown multiple times. (I guess they ranout of fresh material to show, given that this anime is 43 minutes long!)
Besides the singer, there is one voice actor in this anime, Miina Tominaga, who speaks a few lines here and there. (I assume these lines are from the manga.)
Even if you are not familiar with the manga, the music combined with the retro, watercolor-like pictures make for a relaxing watch. It's a good anime to have playing in the background if you want some pleasant, yet not-too-distracting background music/images to look at.
