Review of A Lull in the Sea
It could have been good. I got caught up enough to watch it to the end, but it wasn't worth it. Any part of the story that could cause drama was used at least twice. And not in a "drawing parallels to past events" kinda way, just literally doing the same thing again because it seems the writers were out of ideas. In the end, all the lose ends are hastily shoved into a knot with the explanation of ~feelings~ and ~magic of the ocean~. And then, in the last episode, we don't even get resolution about who ends up dating each other. It's a massivecop-out.
Art-wise, even though it looks good, the underwater living and landscape is just exactly like above ground - with drinks in regular glasses, people walking and running like on land, etc. It could have been made so interesting! But no, they just added some fish here and there and called it underwater.
The time skip is interesting, but that's about it. Skip this unless you're *really* into unrequited love and love heptagons.
