So my ranking for this collection is the following: 1. The Circus is Here: 7/10 I liked the story and the plot twist. The story has a little bit of comedy to it which makes it bizarre and enjoyable. However, not that scary or twisted, and the illustrations were fine, not Junji Ito's best work for sure. 2. Gravetown: 10/10 Absolutely loved it, my favorite from the whole collection. It had that mysterious and twisted story that I've found to be sort of Junji Ito's mark, and it definitely translates as one of his works really well. The illustrations are awesome and the gruesomeness of these is fantasticand very characteristic of Junji.
I was thrilled to know what was going to happen next, and every page I read, the more twisted and unfortunate the story was, which is exactly what you'd like for the story to be when checking it out. Finally, I think it had a well developed and nice ending, opposite from the first story in which the ending felt a bit rushed.
3. The Adjacent Window: 8/10
This one actually gave me goosebumps, specially with the illustrations and the thought of the story happening to me. However, it was nothing super special and it felt REALLY rushed. I wish it would have given more context and story behind the Woman.
4. Sleuth Kids: The Second Daughter's Lover: 10/10
Loveeeed this! Absolutely hilarious. It was clever, funny and twisted. Everything was great. Loved the Hikizuri Siblings.
5. Sleuth Kids: The Assembly of Fallen Ghost: 6/10
This one was a bit more plain for me, and it even felt a bit boring at times. Just not into the whole family-spirit thing. It started good but lost the interest from middle to end.
Final consensus: 8.2/10
