Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

"A japanese boy who draws" is a work of art, i mean the whole movie is a mix of many different art style change to fit the scene. This isn't the first time i've seen something like this BUT trust me this built different, by the story, the music, how realistic it show. So the story follow a boy named Shinji… not the one kick alien butt in his eva or summon servant and fight, just normal person who really love drawing, has a dream become a mangaka, his childhood friend Masaru always draw weird things, Shinji doesn’t like it. They both grow up, Shinji whohas tried and tried and tried to reach his dream but he just fail, hopeless. in other side Masaru become successful by his weird art, but at the end, they’re both love draws.
So what’s great about this?
First of all the ART, like I said, the art change may times in this movie, like we look through the eyes of Shinji, when he young everything look so simple, and more detail when he grow up, it can change by the art that person own, like Masaru, everyone in his draw must have a wrestling mask so he in Shinji eyes or “the camera”, the same things goes with his collage friends, or when his friend gave up in draw he become a normal person like any others, really like this style of art to be honest like the art support the story telling and did it really well.
Even have the art style like that, the story is realistic, Shinji as many of people out there, find something he really love and enjoy, he want to be mangaka because he like drawing manga. But when he become a mangaka it’s turn to a job, it’s a “must”, when he drawing, it just stressful, hopless, trying to make money with the drawing. But when he hear his mom talk about Masaru’s art in the museum and came to see it, he realize Masaru art is… fun, Masara never tried to have a perfect art or money art, he just really enjoy drawing things, he draw the wrestling fight with his childhood friend Shinji, sitting in long chair with Shinji, his mom in the hospital bed with wrestling mask why not. Drawing is fun, art is enjoyment, Shinji sit there and when a kid ask him for draw…boobs just like Masaru used to, he can finally enjoy drawing again. Reading me explain like this cannot see the “good”, if you have seen the movie you know what I mean.
And final, I wanna talk about the sound, the movie has done very good at this point, there are two scene for example is when Shinji give up and stop drawing, everything just silent there just the sound of him talking and the pencil, and the final scene where Shinji look at Masaru’s art and the piano sound kick in just fit so perfectly.
So, it’s a short anime but has done so well everything it need to, I think I like it, very enjoy from the begin to the end, would highly recommend of course, that’s all, thanks for read.
