Faded Picture Scroll · review
I wanted to leave a review for this manga since it has been a few years and most of the feedback out there feels a little dated. Consider this a fresh point of view. The first thing that immediately caught my eye was the art style. It is simple yet elegant, with a nostalgic touch that makes it stand out. Izumo alone shows how talented this mangaka is at design. The visuals are genuinely beautiful and elevate the entire reading experience. I am usually not a fan of fantasy tropes like the ones used here, but this BL was surprisingly wholesome and absolutely worth it. It isshort and to the point, but still manages to feel complete without missing any marks in its storytelling. Because of its brevity, I rated it a solid seven. That score is not because it lacks quality but because it left me wishing there was more.
This manga is a perfect “rainy day read” or something to pick up when you are not sure what you are in the mood for. It is easy to get into, satisfying to finish, and leaves a warm impression.
