Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

Despite the slightly awkward score the manga has, I think it's an extremely charming and surprisingly heady experience. It's still very Ecchi and has a pretty obvious comedy skew but there are more than a few parts that really left a lasting impression from a character writing standpoint. The "Defeat X number of evil X" Scott Pilgrim formula is an extremely effective way to have a character driven narrative that still feels like it has a defined beginning, middle and end. In totality, Oddman 11 makes you think about it a lot longer than it has any right for a manga primarily focused on theEcchi Yuri interactions. It has some drawbacks, namely its brevity that feels like it told a solid plot, but feels unfinished from a character perspective, failing to fully characterize some of the Oddmen, though this is a normal issue with any story that tackles a new enemy that turns friend each arc.

Another minor-er issue is that it feels like the manga struggles to pick a camp it wants to pitch its tent in. Its clearly written in a harem angle, being a Yuri Ecchi affair, but also tries to make a few of the characters act like the main love interests which is a little frustrating since there is no defined winner at the end and it doesn't act as though all of them at once is a viable option either.

Besides those minor complaints, Oddman 11 is a really light and enjoyable read through and through.
