Everyone once in awhile, I'll take a break from the heartbreaking, dark, tonal anime that I normally watch and throw on some good trash. Engage Kiss was supposed to be my pallet cleanser for a particularly depressing anime I had finished prior, but to my surprise, I was deeply invested into the characters and lore of this story more than I thought I would. While there is obvious fan service moments, and plenty of cliche, the world-building is pretty solid and this series has it's fair share of sad moments. I was pleasantly surprised with this. Shout-out to to Shu, who started as an completelyunlikable punk, to a fleshed out unfortunate soul.
