Enrolling in the Transcendent Academy · review

Starts off with promise but the story and dialogue get increasingly .... juvenile in quality. It's often close to pre-teen levels of writing mixed with someone who took a high school beginners course on philosophy and comparative mythology. By the time you realize how badly the dialogue and plot have degraded, you are too far in to abandon the story - it maintains just enough splashes of occasional quality that you want to know how it ends. It's not the worst manga out there by far. But this isn't one I would ever recommend. ----- The above is the actual review. It won't let me publish withjust that so below is filler.

One of the stupidest parts of the manga for me is where it represents the mafia as being some kind of dark heroes working rather than organized crime.

This story has one unique aspect in the work building which is cute and I actually enjoyed - the transcendent academy. The interactions between the MC and the instructors was fun.

The art style is decent enough. Nothing that stands out in the negative or positive.

The characters were mostly 2 dimensional caricatures and often dumbed down to the point of silliness and not being believable.

Again, this is something to read if you can't find anything else. But don't expect much, as I said, decent enough start but clumsy and poor dialogue for a large percentage of it.
