"Is it ever too late to go back to your first love?" Pink Candy Kiss is one of my favourite mangas ongoing right now. The story doesn't shy away from how messy and complicated this type of reconciliation and how it can hurt people around them. Especially from Ema's friend, Kanon, who constantly does remind her that these feelings exist, but understand how those feelings impact more than just you. It helps knowing that the reminders of their obstacles, their circumstances, the reality of what their desires are continued to be in the forefront. They know this isn't right. And yet, it balances the topicof emotional cheating beautifully. It doesn't outright romanticize it but it gives both Takara and Ema, as well as the reader, the full picture of what it could mean to act on those feelings. you'd think the tension would be removed once you pass chapter 26 but the opposite happens - it gets worse. The manga does an incredible job making the reader understand that the yearning doesn't stop once everything is out in the open.

The best part is, besides Ema's mother, there's no real villains in the story. Everyone is written so real to the point where you understand where everyone is coming from.

I am truly excited to see how the mangaka will wrap this story up.
