As someone who's hasn't come back to the anime scene for a long time, this was enjoyable to watch. The "time travel" thing, although overdone as a concept in general, had a sort of quirk than the other ones I've watched. He can only time travel linearly, so he can't repeat a time more than once. I thought that was interesting. The art-- great. People might disregard its aesthetics on the surface as ugly, but the 2000s was just that. I applaud their research in capturing the true aesthetics of a mid-2000s Japanese delinquent. As for the sound, nothing captured me. I didn't bother searching up theopening or ending songs, or its soundtrack in that matter. It gets a pass, but nothing memorable.

The characters are phenomenal. They know how to build characters. So and so that progressively, the main character doesn't feel like the main character anymore. Everyone is main. However, being a cry-baby is his whole character, so he's technically not out of character when other characters out-shine him. I wish his character could do more than strengthen his resolve or talk out of turn. He was practically disposable in the 2nd battle until the very end. Oh well, as they say, you can't repeat the past more than twice, am I right?

Love the solid politics of this anime too. I can't wait for the next season.
