Review of BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.

Maple and her story is a simple one. One which I enjoyed alot. If you are looking for an mystery or an evil villain in this anime. Then I suggest you check out other anime for that. Maple is a normal girl, who after her friend convinces her, buys the popular mmorpg game. It's a virtual world of delights. As Maple explores the world on her own while her friend is still grounded form playing. She somehow manages to make herself so overpowered that the game admins has to put restrictions on her abilities. The story is pretty simple so it's not gonna have a lotemotional or heartbreaking scenes. Maple and her friends is just playing a game and enjoying themselves.

Which I found to be just what I wanted. There are so many stories out there that tells of a mysterious organization's or people trapped in a game world. But here it's just the story of friends playing, exploring and having a lot of fun.

The main points of why I like this show is:

1. Maple. Maple is a very likeable character, her sister to play with all of her friends. And her first thought when starting to play the game is that she doesnt want to get hurt. She doesnt cheat or look for way to cheat the system. Rather she just explores and somehow unearth new way to use the game system as she plays. Maple is a fun and likeable character and I found myself thinking I would enjoy playing with Maple as a partner.

2. The wacky way Maple somehow finds new way to take me by surprise.

3. The character designs. I honestly isn't much for moe characters. But I found these to all have a fun design, a fun personality and I just like how this show, SHOWS that it isn't just the game mechanics or the monster killing that makes someone enjoy the game. An MMOrpg is built on the idea that you dont have to play alone, you can but the possibility to be able to have people around who enjoyed playing and exploring just as much as you.

In truth I feel this show is more for us who want a simple story, which is fun, enjoyable and sometimes wacky.
