Review of Sing a Bit of Harmony
Personal Opinion “What is happiness?” “And can something created by humans—like AI—ever truly find the answer?” That’s the core question of this film. I think the plot is really intriguing, even though the story follows a pretty classic structure. But honestly? I got way more out of it than I expected. I mean, just look at the genre mashup: Slice of Life + Sci-fi + Musical = Sing a Bit of Harmony. It’s the musical aspect that totally caught me off guard in the best way. It ends up being the glue that holds the whole movie together. Whether the characters are happy, sad, or even fighting the antagonist (don’t worry,it’s not Disney lol), music always steps in as the emotional drive.
And it’s not just for the main character every character gets their moment, and the musical moments are always meaningful. That’s a big shoutout to the director and screenwriter for getting the narrative pacing just right. Nothing feels forced, whether it’s the emotional scenes, the comedy, or the music itself. It all flows really naturally.
Final Super personal note I freaking love the character design.
I’ve been following Kanna Kii, the artist behind Umibe no Étranger, and I’m a huge fan of their art style. There’s this soft, warm vibe to the lines that’s hard to explain, but it just hits right. Love it.
