Review of given

If you enjoyed Doukyuusei you'd enjoy Given. Given is at it's core a show about grief and how to overcome it. You follow Satou Mafuyu and Uenoyama Ritsuka and how they let music comfort and guide them through the emotions they both feel as the story progresses. Because this is a show that has music as the main focus of how the characters come to terms with themselves, it has to be good right? and right you are. The soundtrack to this show is phenomenal. The 3D animation you get when the band preforms does pull you out of the show a little bit, butit's not used often so you can overlook it. The supporting cast of Nakayama Haruki and Kaji Akihiko do a great job at nudging Mayfuyu and Uenoyama in the direction that they themselves are to scared to pursue. The side story with Haruki and Akihiko is also entertaining. Given is a good BL to watch when you need a good pick me up. This is one of the better Bl's that I've seen and for that I give Given a 10/10.
