A masterpiece that shows you the ups and downs in the entertainment world, while doing it through stunning animation and multilayered characters. Oshi no ko is an anime that exceeds in all areas, everything from the story itself to the visual and music through out it. Though their biggest trait is their characters and how they are portrayed through the whole show. The main characters and the supporting ones have an amazing dynamic, where each part helps build up one another so the story and the character development is pushed forward. The show also do an amazing job showing the emotions of the characters, how theycan be conflicted, happy, nervous and so on.

The story of Oshi no ko is centered around Japans entertainment industry, and draws a lot of inspiration from there. They show both the good and the bad from that world, how the smile of a fan can mean everything, but also how the pressure can affect people. It is also in this we see some of the most beautiful and depressing scenes, that show how the world is not just black and white, but a spectrum. One thing they also is great at showing is how people are outside of the light of entertainment, how they can smile and laugh with the one acting as the villain.

All of this is greatly supported by the animation and music. The animation in itself is spectacular and makes a clear tone for every scene, they easily set the tone by how they animate facial features and the characters movements. One of the most obvious cinematic effects they are going for, is how they animate the characters eyes. Where their goal seems to be that you can read their feelings just from the eyes, which they have greatly succeeded in.

For the music in the show, have they made some absolutely amazing songs that fits to the show. Both the opening and ending song has some amazing musical talent in it, but the lyrics itself also gives a clear view into the whole show. Through out the show is multiple other songs also heard, and once again do they fit in with the show and helps elevate the scene.

Oshi no ko is a masterpiece that promises a lot, and then lives up to it. I would call this a new must watch anime, and i would recommend it to everyone.
