NieR:Automata Ver1.1a (Cour 2) · review
The second season of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a has remained consistent, if not better, in production value and staying faithful as an adaptation. The consistently gorgeous animation, painterly backgrounds, perspectives, and expressions continue to breathe life into the world alongside the exceptional game soundtrack. This time around, the narrative is more grandeur, covering more compelling stories, character explorations, and climactic resolutions, along with diving deeper into some more philosophical concepts, such as the barrier between man and machine. This part certainly feels like a culmination of prior events and established relationships, and despite some somber themes, the story arrives at a satisfying and well-paced conclusion.
