Review of My Happy Marriage

This was my favorite anime of its cour. I looked forward to it every week and it always delivered. While it is another Cinderella-type story, the magic elements and shift in narrative into its own story help keep it from becoming stale. I liked how the story unfolded and the transition that occurred part way through the cour. The characters were also engaging and endearing. I really enjoyed Miyo's character arc this cour. That said, I do think if you're the type of viewer who doesn't like quiet, hesitant, and/or abused characters, you might find frustration with her. I am 100% hyped to find thatthere will be a second season. I can't wait for it to arrive.

If you like fairytales with familiar and unique elements and want a romance anime where the main conflict isn't a triangle, then you will probably enjoy this anime as much as I did.
