Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez does a very good job at maintaining a good balance between featuring the card game and telling a simple, yet compelling story. The basic plot of the story is that there are 6 people selected to participate in the "Fated Clash", a tournament that could grant the winner a wish, with the main character, Akina Myodo wanting to cure his sickly sister. The show, at its core, is very simplistic, with not too much else going on outside of the tournament. It has its very fun twists and turns at a couple of points, but nothing that shifts the story in acompletely different direction. In turn, its execution is consistent and solid in most departments, animation, plot, characters, all of that jazz.

Unlike the first season of OverDress, Divinez can stand as either a good standalone show about card games or a great introduction into Cardfight!! Vanguard's modern format.
