The Perks of Being a Villainess · review
Most Villianess stories have the MC pull a 180 and just become the heroine, so I'm always happy to find ones like this where the MC embraces being a villainess and actually plays the bad guy. The characters are well written, especially the MC who used to be doormat in her previous life so she has a really hard time playing the role of a villianess and it's always fun seeing how she struggles to pull it off. It's worth noting though that the story has a fairly light tone that doesn't really take itself seriously. The art style is also great, and the world seems tohave some pretty intriguing concepts that should make for some pretty interesting stories. Sadly though, the author constantly puts these on hold in favor of dedicating most of the story to the protagonist starting a cafe franchise.
To be fair, the cafe franchise story was fine at first, but it just gets old quickly. Especially since most of it is just the protagonist copying ideas from our real world and just applying them to this fantasy world, with mostly uninspired modifications like making blenders that run on magic instead of electricity.
The times when other stories take the forefront instead give me hope though as they are genuinely interesting especially since they're complimented with well written characters and fun interactions.
So for the moment, I'll give it a 7/10.
