Review of Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro
Just a warning, if you dropped this after episode 1 because of how severe the teasing (or bullying if you wanna call it that) is, then you might wanna consider picking it up once again. For instance, the teasing here is just for a show. After episode 1, all those teasing or bullying shenanigans will basically became just a show they put up to in order to show their lovey-dovey bullsh*ts. Basically an excuse to have their wholesome moments. And even though it has to get old really quick, it really doesn't. The show does well to progress their relationship little by little. The pacing, while itmight get slow at times, is actually well done. The manga was a bit fast paced but the anime is surprisingly well-paced. There's nothing really to point out here because everything is well-done.
The characters are also decent. The main cast are pretty well-done because of how they develop bit-by-bit. It's just such a sweet development... however, the side characters aren't as developed as the main cast. They basically exist as one-dimensional characters who basically does nothing to the main story. But they are enjoyable to watch at the very least.
The animation is very simple. It doesn't have a lot of movement, but it does stay consistent in the whole season. The art is also very cute, but doesn't really stand-out in anyway. Overall, pretty decent.
The mmusic is pretty good. Actually quite bangers tbh. But I don't really get the feeling that I wanna play it everytime everyday. The OST is pretty good as well.
Overall, just a solid wholesome anime to watch if you're bored. Also, be mindful that you might get annoyed by Nagatoro's VA because of how annoying her voice is. But it's just a subjective opinion because I know someone out there might actually like her voice. Not me though lmao.
