Review of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc
THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE WHOLE ANIME SERIES (slight reference to manga) Demon Slayer: a title that makes small children and grown men and women alike dart up out of their seats in excitement. Demon Slayer has some of the most beautiful animation I have ever seen. With this being said, the characters and story are nothing more than bland copy and paste versions of a bunch of different battle Shonen series. The show follows Tanjiro Kamado and his journey to find a cure for his kid sister Nezuko so she can turn back into a human after being turned into a demon by MuzanKibutsuji, but to do so, Tanjiro has to collect blood that has a high concentration of Muzan's blood. This sets up Tanjiro with a boring and overused goal: to be the strongest. Although I don't believe the show comes out and says it, Tanjiro has to be the strongest demon slayer to defeat the disappointing main antagonist Muzan who is the "most powerful demon" (I think upper rank 1 would've made a way better main antagonist and final boss).
The characters: bland, boring, occasionally has some good characters, but not enough worth mentioning. Inosuke and Zenistu are extremely loud and obnoxious, this is quite annoying throughout some episodes.
Story: Nothing special
Art: Breathtaking
Sound: Amazing, of course
I very much enjoyed this anime, but it has nothing to do with the original source material or story... for the most part. Something dragged me into buying the manga box set, but I'm not sure what. Demon Slayer is one of those anime that you need to shut off your brain and just enjoy the splendid fight scenes. I have to take my hat off to Ufotable, their work on the series has been absolutely fantastic, and I don't think anyone could ask for a better adaptation.
Do I recommend this anime?
I highly recommend this anime. It's a very fun watch if you're up for a generic story with fights that will make your jaw drop (and I promise there are a lot of those), so please, give Demon Slayer a try and form your own opinion on it!
