The Grimm Variations · review
There's no way I could ever find a valid explanation to such a low score on this anime. It deserves so much more. Probably there's people complaining about the distance taken from the original Grimm stories, but probably they didn't read the "VARIATIONS" in the title. The idea itself is good and finally something original, and the realization is not bad, too. Art and animations are always spot on, the stories created around the original ones are interesting and creepy to the right point (maybe the second one about Red Hood is the weakest one in plot terms, but I didn't dislike it as well).I personally think the episodes about Cinderella and Hansel&Gretel are peak. The eerie atmosphere reminds me of the best Black Mirror episodes with a little sprinkle of Anime, and this marriage works so fine in some circumstances.
If you want something fresh and original, emotional and creepy, this is the right choice. Please give this show a chance, even considering it's only 6 episodes long.
