Review of Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms

Kickstarted anime for the fans of classic shounen stories. Story isn't nothing new, it's predictable and tropey, but fun enough to be enjoyable. Story 7/10 Story lacks due to the fact it's just inspired by many older classic shounens. The love interest, rival that joins main team, betrayals. Most of those tropes are easy to read and predict, but pacing makes it still quite enjoyable. That's a complete story, without any weird cliffhangers, as was designed from the start, when it reached the kickstarter. Character Designs 8/10 Yet again, designs are quite tropey. You can see whether character is "on the good side" or "the bad side" byjust looking at their color pallette. Human characters aren't that interesting, being basically "stolen" from older shounens, but the design of Mecha-Udes itself is quite nice, especially visually.

That's the thing anime does really well. Despite using tropey characters and quite a lot of CGI for MechaUdes, it looks gorgeous. Some scenes are bit hard to look at, but overall it looks great.
