Review of Gushing over Magical Girls
Where to START??? I´m not gonna lie. I had my doubts about watching this, but since I heard it´s an echii with a decent story I had to give it a go. Upon watching the first episode I honest to god thought I accidently started watching a hentai but to my surprise this very close hentai had a good story with some decent characters that kept me entertained through the first episodes. Utena altho the defnition of a masochist is a very likeable character, her personality is very shy and timid girl that doesn´t want to stand out, however you will soon find that she has a extremepolar opposite. Along with her partners in crime Kiwi and Korisu they make a very ood team but surprisingly well complemented and hilarious, sure two of them are complete horndogs but what can you do? right?? Right???
The main themes of this anime are echii, comedy and fantasy. The story is your typical evil organisation does evil things for the heroes in this case heroines to foil their plans, altho cliche since I´ve never watched a magical girl anime it´s interesting enough for me to give it a go. The plot does progress enough to see some character development, altho in some cases can you call it that? I mean sure they developed but they turned into even bigger horndogs. This anime is the essence of power of friendship, which is not bad since its a magical girl anime so what can you expect.
Now, after watching a couple of episodes it got me intrigued about the manga, after comparing them I can definitively tell they went hard on some scenes in the anime. Like did they HIRE Hentai animators for some of it?? Cuz after seen the other animes that the studio has produced its crazy how it´s not classed as Hnetai. The anime is well animated and echiii is implemented/expanded compared to the manga, that is not to say that the manga is disappointing whats so ever.
Overall, I´m glad I gave it a watch, it was fun and hilarious enough for me to be entertained all the way through. I wouldn´t mind getting a season 2.
