Lazarus

Review of Lazarus

Lazarus was a show with a lot of premise. The art and the soundtrack was very reminiscent of Cowboy Bepop and a few of the older dystopian mystery anime of old. The main characters are all interesting characters with unique stories and goals, tied together by an overarching mystery that isn't fully known yet. You'd think that this would be a recipe for a great series, until the last 2 episodes happened. I'm not sure if they were genuinely rushed in the studio or the writing was meant to be like that, but they threw all of the mystery that they were building up out ofthe window to go for spectacle and an ending that hints towards a sequel. After I watched the final episode, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the fact that I had invested my time into a show that could've had the ability to question human morality, fear, the implications of using biological weapondry and drugs, and abuse of power, but instead, opted to go for a lacklustre ending.

To conclude, Lazarus is a really good show, from the first 9 or so episodes, then it falls off a cliff.
