Review of Lazarus

With just hearing that a new series is coming up from shinichiro watanabe director of a renown series like cowboy bebop is gonna at least grab your attention, lazarus is about the searching of this scientist skinner and the cure for hapna a medication that resulted to be the perdition for those who took it crafted by the aforementioned person all the 13 episodes are about that, at the beggning is entertaining and it is even more so when the same introduction that we can see on the first episodes helps to settle the tone and gives you a notion that there is something biggerand significant behind the whole plot.
The thing is that ends up being everything too superficial throwing overboard themes , dilemas and an overall story that could have been delved much more and resolutions on the climax that were too shallows in comparision with other series like "ghost in the shell stand alone complex" that aimed for really similar themes on diff settings and was so much better than lazarus delivering a reflexive and thoughful experience.
Is shorts too short i should say its not like i wanted that lasted longer but in relation with the story and what could have been done, it shows how people misused a medication under differents demographics all with the whole purpose of just being able to "escape" of their actual lifes and being able to find enjoyment without the so called "pain" that depending of the group could be defined a little different but all of them conveying in to fullfil the goal of numb such emotion in a society that has been on decadency and where people seems to not care about others and the answer we get at the final of why could the scientist skinner do something like try to kill millions of people also falls flat on deliver something on pair to the degree of plot that the series was trying to delv.

The group lazarus are not more than just a bunch of uninteresting and poor designed characters from which you are able to learn a little of their past along the episodes but really you dont care much cus they are just boring cliches like the little hacker girl or axel gilberto being some kind of spike that lacked of the same charisma that this last one had.

I found out while watching it that tt tries maybe unintentionally to be like some watanabe previous works and this resemblance even though might feel like a nice touch also makes it kinda a recycled product as a whole.

SPOILER -----------
One more thing also that never was answered was why axel gilberto didnt felt any kind of effect from the medication when they experimented with him which to me was to say the least kinda weird.
------------------

Not eveything is bad though, the selection of some songs, certain moments on the series like the one of the islands with those backgrounds , the animation and fighting secuences or that fake promise of an profound plot early on the series was enjoyble and good (while lasted XD).
Cant say was a bad series cus was entertaining most of the time but also wasnt a work that i could put on pair to others like cowboy bebop or samuria champloo because it has a really LONG way to reach those lvs of quality, it was fine not more or less .
