Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

I like watching the goofy elf do goofy elf things, like eating giant hamburgers, or buying clothing-dissolving potions. In all seriousness, this show is halfway between a low-stakes feel-good comedy and a more traditional save-the-world-and-kill-god action flick. It doesn't have much of a philosophical message (other than perhaps "get to know the people around you"?) but is entertaining regardless. Not every show *needs* to have that, and some like Vinland Saga actually end up being worse for trying to push silly nonsense that would never work. The worldbuilding of the show is a particular highlight, with reminisce scenes being brought up to explain why Frierenacts the way she does. It's a fairly compelling package overall.
