Zen - Grogu and Dust Bunnies · review
While I'm no Star Wars fan, I found this to be much more enjoyable than I anticipated. It's also a very short watch, less than 3 minutes long. The animation style itself was a lot more simplistic than what we see in other works by Studio Ghibli, however I found it very cute nonetheless. Unfortunately, the reason I docked points (and therefore stars) while reviewing this, is a pretty strong one. The story they are attempting to tell within the animation is a bit muddy. It can be hard to decipher what the character's thinking, or what is going on. The readability of theaction also suffers a bit in this piece.
I believe what saves this ONA is the cute, almost hand-drawn feeling of the artwork, the background music and the adorableness that is Grogu. The way this art makes use of color at certain moments really sells the piece as a whole.
Although I have found personal enjoyment within this piece of media, it's certainly not for everyone. With a hard to follow line of action, it may leave viewers with more questions than when they started. Also not recommended for those who don't like Star Wars.
