Review of Dan Da Dan

In order to enjoy Dandadan, you must meet these conidtions: 1) being able to turn your brain off for cca 9 hours - Dandadan is more than a slightly confusing mix of sreaming, fighting, silly faces, surrealistic creatures left and right, TONS of ball jokes and a pinch of teenage drama. With it's average characters and story, together it makes a medicore shonen, wrapped in admittedly pretty animation, character designs and catchy music. Under any circumstances, do not think about what you're watching, and i promise your monkey brain will enjoy it, as soon as the pretty colors kick in. 2) being male - Dandadan really wantedto be original, and unfortunately, it actually suceeded in one thing - fanservice. Grandma being sexualised everytime she shows up? Weird, but hey, some people just wanna have fun. VERY detailed rape attempt, which would make any woman/girl, who ever gotten into the situation when they thought they're gonna get raped (basically any who ever stepped outside) highly uncomfortable, the scene being there only for showing underwear? Never talked about again, girl seems to be absolutely fine. Not cool. Reminder, this is not even rated ecchi. Also, something similiar happens at the end of the show.

My final opinion? Without that one (two) scene(s), very enjoyable mishmash. Unfortunatly, I was born female and even nine volumes of Berserk didn't made me as uncomfortable as this. As long as this isn't rated ecchi, i don't really see myslef recommending this to anyone.
