Appropriately modeled from a mobile game, this seems to just be a way to get people to play the game instead of being an actual Modoka Magica side story. The story plays out like someone's first draft where they wrote the entire story non-stop in one sitting. What you thought was the entire point of the story, gets continually more and more downplayed throughout, as if the author lost interest and instead began to favor a new story half way through.
