Review of Vermeil in Gold
A wimpy generic idealist to the core kid that has something special summons a dom mommy (succubus) demon as a familiar, and they re in an academy. Okay, this anime could have been pretty good. At least an 8 or even a 9 in my book. But too many things kept happening over and over again, and it became quite a drag for me to finish this story. The story has an interesting concept, but it's not work on it for the love of God give me something to work with here man... I wanna know more about that world and magic and how it happened toend up like that, but you don't get much in terms of that unfortunately... You get something along the slice of life of living with a succubus mommy in an academy of magic... Besides the fact that you can easily guess a lot of things that are gonna happen, you get somewhat of a villain that is barely worked on towards the end, but ig they ve left it for the next season, if it's gonna happen... This anime suffers quite a bit the syndrome of having a really small world. They've got magic, they ve got classes of mages, but nothing is worked on, it feels like the outside world barely exists. Evil mages attack and nobody from the outside world does anything... cmon man, where the worldbuilding at??
But let's talk about the characters, because that's what I feel like the show is all about, as in the story is very bland and nothing special at all. You have the 2 MCs: the male which is a wimp that cannot grow some balls, but is idealistic to the point of sacrificing himself for the enemy type of character... which for some that's really off putting, for me as well to some degree, especially because he seems bipolar af, one moment he does something cool, the next he transforms into a wimp again, and stays like that for the most part. The female MC is what you might think it is, just a horny mommy with big milkers. There s an interesting background to her, which imo is the only interesting part of the story. The other characters are kinda meh, maybe the child hood tsundere type of girl is pretty nice, but she is kinda stupid so there's that. The other parts of the group of friends near the MC are really background characters that bring almost nothing to the table, barely some minor comedy. One thing that mesmerized me was the appearance of a random classmate into an episode, explaining some stuff and staying with the male MC like they are friends, never been introduced ever, and then just like that never appeareaing in any episodes... comedic effect? idk man, was kinda weird.
Story: 6 -- Bland, generic, uninteresting, forgetable 95%.
Art: 8 -- The art is pretty nice overall, but the fights aren't special at all, feels like they tried to make them finish asap.
Music: 9 -- Mili Goddess
Characters: 6 -- Letdown.
Enjoyment: 6 -- A drag to finish...

I recommend it to people that just really want to see a succubus mommy with big milkers go onto a kid ig. Don't expect much from this anime imo. It might be kinda chill to watch, from a perspective.
