Review of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
Gege Akutami elevates Jujutsu Kaisen to new emotional heights. From moral dilemmas to ideological wars, Season 2 deeply explores human psyche and conflict while maintaining the series concise structure in spite of its expansion. It's a 23-episode showcase of pacing control, emotional maturity and intelligence; as 'JJK' becomes a more complex tale of the human spirit, and the many forms it takes. It pushes and it pulls and it tears at you-- The ending of Jujutsu Kaisen's first half goes by without a single moment of indifference, while untrue over any amount of scrutiny, it makes it seem as though every scene and line ultimatelymattered.
Yes, in parts unoriginal. But also wholly unpredictable. There is a valuable point to a narrative which appears to be doing nothing, if not building upon the foundations of old, rehashing used ideas, and making them anew.
Giving them more thought, and depth.
Making them tauter; making them better.
