What a turnaround this second season is from the first. The quality of the show improved significantly in almost every way. Nearly every episode felt relevant to the plot and advanced the narrative. The framing of each scene is especially good, got them feels going regularly. This is most apparent during battle scenes. The whole thing feels much more solid instead of the cobbled together mess season 1 seemed to be. The gourmet tag is false once more, this season has even less to do with food than the first one. The entirety of its relation to foodcan be summed up in the idea, occasionally expressed during the show, that people can understand one another by sharing a meal together. It was much better presented as a concept this season but I still feel it's quite misleading if you are comparing it to something like Dungeon Cooking or Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, shows that deserve to be in the gourmet category.

That being said, I'm happy I stuck it out and decided to give season two a chance!
