Review of Horimiya
This is my first review I've written on MAL. (spoiler free) Story: 5 Is Horimiya the most unique romance anime? Definitely not. That being said, I enjoyed the first few episodes and watching Hori and Miyamura's relationship. After that, well... it got so boring. It's a pretty generic romance about a lonely guy who looks ugly and nerdy on the outside, but with his glasses off and hair up he looks hella hot. Then there's this annoying girl called Hori who is very popular and also a good sister. One day Miyamura brings Hori's little brother home, and Hori doesn't even realize that it's him because he looks so sexy. And the story continues from there.
Art: 5
The art and animation is inconsistent; the faces look weird sometimes. The chibi form is kind of overused in the later episodes, but overall I like the art style.
Sound: 8
I actually really liked the opening. The ending was pretty good.
I like the voice acting as well.
Character: 5
I don't like how all the characters have the same color hair and eyes. In my opinion, it's not realistic.
The characters are okay but some of them are really annoying.
Enjoyment: 3
It was not funny. The humor is almost worse than Bungou Stray Dogs. Most of the time I had no reaction to "funny" scenes. I honestly wouldn't call this anime a romcom. It got really boring after a few episodes.
Overall: 5
Watch the first few episodes if you want to see cute romance, but I don't recommend staying for more. If you want an actually funny romcom, watch Lovely Complex.
