Review of Castle in the Sky
Castle in the Sky was the first Ghibli movie and as close to a good movie adaptation of Future Boy Conan as will be made. The main boy and girl are almost identical to Conan and Lana and their quest takes a similar path to that of Conan's. The story is essentially the same as The Dark Crystal, where an artifact must be taken to a cool castle in order to win. The antagonist is bland and comically evil, which is the most significant negative in the movie. There are a lot of great set pieces and action sequences which are the main reason towatch this movie. The soundtrack is one of Joe Hisaishi's best and has an iconic and memorable theme. In Japan, this is one of the most loved Ghibli movies and is bigger than most Disney movies.
This is a great movie that will not disappoint anyone who watches it. Although the villain is forgettable, the action sequences more than make up for it.
