Review of Whisper of the Heart

Whisper of the Heart is an excellent coming of age story that can appeal to everyone. When I first watched this movie I was disappointed that it wasn't some epic fantasy adventure. Upon a second watching I fell in love with this film. It captures the struggles of an artist and all the doubts that come along with it. The feelings come across very naturally, each character has their own worries. If you are an artist or feel lost in life this movie hits close to home. My only complaint was the soundtrack. In comparison to the scores of other Studio Ghibli films it lackedthe magic it normally has. Besides that the movie overall still managed to have its own charm. I love how the art makes everyday life seem beautiful. Thank you for reading :)
