Girls Beyond the Wasteland · review
Shoujo-tachi is a breath of fresh air. If you're like me, going through the sea of mediocre anime to watch, Shoujo-tachi lands in the cozy spot of actually having a plot, lovable characters, and fun dialogue. To those that rate this a 6, sorry we can't all be A+ shows like Bakuman, Angel Beats. or Goblin Slayer. Some anime like Shoujo-tachi do nothing wrong except be a normal show. So, why should normal be rated a low 6? 6 is below average. 7 is average. and 8 is the cozy lovable standard. 7 is a mindless show like Mangirl!, 8 is a lovable cast like Bokutachiwa Benkyou ga Dekinai.
See the difference? 6 is subpar, 7 is average okay, it was made just to chase a trend, and 8 is for anime that actually attempts to be a show. Thats where Girls Beyond the Wasteland sits. It is by all means a good example of being a show you can sit down and enjoy the story.
The last shows I saw beforehand were Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san (a loli centered cliche) and Tonari no Seki-kun (a fun but nothing really matters type of show).
So when I say Shoujo is a solid 8 with an actual cast, a story, and good dialogue, it just reassures me this is the anime goal I yearn to actually invest time watching. I can watch this show again in years, and I will still enjoy coming back to enjoy the cast. I cant say the same for other shows like Flying Witch or Walkure Romance. I have made these comparison to show that this anime, without spoilers, is worth your time.
