Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

When I think of this anime, one word comes to mind Wasted potential For a show with sadism literally in the title, it somehow loses the plot in a show that is 2 episodes long The show starts out with a fresh and exciting direction with a male protagonist having to fight against a strong, united front of 4 capable female antagonists, who use cunning mind games and poisons to bend the male protagonist to do their bidding There are so many shows where the male protagonist doesn't even fight women because he's above that so to see the male protagonist desperately struggle against a strong female antagonistic force. However, the cracks start to show even in the first episode where it peaks.

They struggle to flesh out the characterization of both the protagonist and the antagonists alike, which I felt was disappointing. They had so much runtime that could've been used on character development instead of pointless fanservice.

The only characters I could say really had a character were the club president and the girl with the camera. Short Hair and Ponytail are just kind of there and even the protagonist is a bit flat and one-dimensional.

However, I think the second episode is where the show really falls apart.

This really could've been a one-shot because the second episode is the antagonists conceding defeat to the protagonist for 16 minutes. You have blackmail material on him, you have biological weapons, why are you just spending that time letting him have his way?

It was so afraid of having a dark ending with the female antagonists winning that it went back to the slop status quo of the male protagonist regaining control.

Imagine if Aizen just gave up like a little bitch after Ichigo beat one Espada.

Not only that but it skips past so many scenes, as if 2 episodes was all they could afford. They show a scene of the male protagonist storming the main antagonist's rear fortress in order to help achieve his objective and yet it's just casually thrown in and finished with in less than a minute.

The animation isn't exactly the quality of something like, say, Kill la Kill, but it does do a decent job of covering the aspects of the story.

I understand the temptation of having an array of female characters to choose from for people to cling onto but if it was just the main protagonist and the main antagonist, this could've been a fresh and exciting twist on something like Death Note.

As is, it's just wasted potential that left me unsatisfied. One of the worst examples of bait-and-switch anime I can think of.
