Anne of Green Gables · review
Anne of Green Gables is a coming-of-age story—one of the best I have seen. Truly remarkable. It had a slow start, but the emotions, which I consider one of the key elements of the anime, were there from the very beginning. The character development throughout the series was spectacular; you can see the fruits of it by the end. All of those events shaped the anime beautifully. Anne's imagination played a crucial part in it. The friendship, rivalry, and heartbreak—every sort of emotion was there. It felt like I was reliving my own childhood. Anne's mental growth was also illustrated very well. The scenery andmusic are top-notch, fitting perfectly with the atmosphere the anime tries to present. Probably the most significant event of the anime comes very late, serving as the culmination of everything that happens before. Truly incredible. The ending is also done well.
