Very weak throughout most of the film... The initial premise of a movie revolving around the need to destroy machines that have the power to end the world starts with an idea that, in theory, could yield something epic; however, the execution of this proposal leaves much to be desired. From the beginning, the plot fails to convincingly capture the viewer. The film fails to create a real atmosphere of tension, which is a major flaw for a story that aims to deal with such an important situation. The biggest problem is that, at the beginning, there are no enemies that truly cause apprehension. The filmfails by not introducing an imposing villain at the start (SPOILER!, it doesn't improve in the end), something that could have improved the plot. The construction of a great antagonist should have been one of the high points of the plot, but instead we are faced with a threat that, despite having an interesting visual design, does not convey the tension or danger that the plot demands. The villain may seem imposing at first glance, but he reveals himself to be a figure without depth and, more importantly, without any emotional relevance to the unfolding of the story. His presence seems more like a formality than a real challenge for the heroes.

The only truly positive point...

If there's anything worth mentioning as a positive point, it's the scene where villains from previous films appear, not as physical entities, but as clones/smoke. This is the only part of the film that manages to evoke any emotion. The fight sequence against these villains was very well executed, both in visual aspects and choreography, providing unexpected energy in the middle of a lukewarm special. Even the fact that these villains return as smoke, even after being defeated, has an interesting creative idea, bringing a touch of nostalgia to older fans of the franchise. This moment is truly the only one that justifies my 5-star rating, because if it weren't for this scene, the film would certainly fall to something much lower.

The rest of the film, aside from that brief moment of excitement, boils down to a 60-minute special that is, for the most part, quite mediocre. We could even say that the good parts are reduced to about 10 minutes, while the other 50 are composed of scenes that, although they try to remain interesting, fail to escape mediocrity.

In the end, the film fails to sustain itself on either its initial premise or its execution. It feels more like fan service trying to please long-time fans with some nostalgic appearances and a single action scene. However, the lack of an imposing villain makes the special a mediocre experience, not worth watching more than once. The only real merit is that, for 10 minutes, it manages to be something more interesting than the rest of the boring time it offers. The final score is 5, because despite being bad in many ways, it still has one extremely good moment.

Bem fraquinho em quase todo momento...

A premissa inicial de um filme que gira em torno da necessidade de destruir máquinas que têm o poder de acabar com o mundo já começa com uma ideia que em teoria poderia render algo épico, no entanto, a execução dessa proposta deixa muito a desejar. Desde o início, o enredo não consegue capturar o espectador de maneira convincente. O filme não consegue criar um clima de tensão real, o que é um grande erro para uma história que se propõe a lidar com uma situação de tal importância. O maior problema é que, no começo, não há inimigos que realmente causem apreensão. O filme falha ao não introduzir um vilão imponente no inicio (SPOILER!, no final não melhora), algo que poderia ter dado uma melhorada na trama. A construção de um grande antagonista deveria ser um dos pontos altos da trama, mas ao invés disso nos deparamos com uma ameaça que apesar de ter um design visual interessante não transmite a tensão ou o perigo que o enredo exige. O vilão até pode parecer imponente à primeira vista, mas ele se revela uma figura sem profundidade e, mais importante, sem qualquer relevância emocional para o desenrolar da história. Sua presença parece mais uma formalidade do que um verdadeiro desafio para os heróis.

O único ponto realmente positivo...

Se há algo que vale a pena ser mencionado como um ponto positivo, é a cena onde os vilões de filmes anteriores aparecem, não como entidades físicas, mas sim como clones/fumaças. Essa é a única parte do filme que consegue despertar alguma emoção. A sequência de luta contra esses vilões foi muito bem executada, tanto nos aspectos visuais quanto nas coreografias, o que proporciona uma energia inesperada no meio de um especial morno. Até o fato de esses vilões retornarem como fumaça, mesmo após terem sido derrotados, tem uma ideia criativa interessante, que traz um toque de nostalgia para os fãs mais antigos da franquia. Esse momento realmente é o único que justifica a minha avaliação de nota 5, porque se não fosse por essa cena, com certeza o filme cairia para algo bem abaixo.

O restante do filme, fora esse breve momento de empolgação, o filme se resume a um especial de 60 minutos que é, na maior parte, bem mediano. Podemos até dizer que o tempo bom é reduzido a cerca de 10 minutos, enquanto os outros 50 são compostos por cenas que, embora tentem se manter interessantes, não conseguem escapar de algo mediano.

No fim das contas, o filme não consegue se sustentar nem na premissa inicial nem na execução. Ele se sente mais como um fan service que tenta agradar os fãs de longa data com algumas aparições nostálgicas e uma cena de ação pontual. No entanto, a falta de um vilão imponente torna o especial uma experiência mediana, que não vale a pena ser vista mais de uma vez. O único mérito real é que, por 10 minutos, ele consegue ser algo mais interessante do que o resto do tempo chato que oferece. A nota final é 5, pois apenas de ser ruim em bastante coisa, ainda tem um momento que é extremamente bom.
