But since the movie format is more suitable for most anime newcomers, same like Letterbox users, than the series, feel free to skip the series and watch this trilogy! Made in the Abyss is one of the best anime of the last decade. I never tire of recommending it to everyone. Unusual original plot, absolutely unique setting, soulful magical music, perfect mix of drama and comedy. The anime starts out as a sweet, kindfairy tale, but then reveals itself as one of the deepest anime, showing very tough things. The story will give you a real sense of adventure, it will be impossible to tear yourself away. A must-see for all fantasy fans.
