Review of Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya

Just as great as the first season overall. It still has issues, but I'm too much of a fan of this franchise to be bothered by them too much. Once again it's follows the manga fairly closely while extending certain scenes to add depth to the story and intensity to the action. However, the ending to the last episode breaks continuity with the manga by a little bit, which can be easily retconned in a potential third season. But I think that goes to show that there wasn't really a third season being planned in the first place, which is sad and hopefully I'm wrong aboutthat.

The animation is once again great. I noticed that the issue I had with the obvious CG character models in the background of some scenes was less noticeable this time around which is great. The backgrounds still look fantastic, the art is colourful, and the animation works really well with the action scenes in particular.

This season's arc is more focused on the action scenes which are a little better than the previous season in my opinion. Overall, I think I prefer season one a little bit more than this season upon re-watch, but I remember liking season two more the first time I watched this anime, so I can't say for sure which is better. I wasn't super into this arc's story until the last four episodes where things got really interesting for me, with episode ten in particular being the best episode in the entire series and has my favourite scene across both seasons.

So yeah, it's just season two of Seraph of the End, and is very consistent with the first season. So if you liked the first season and weren't sure if the second season is worth watching, I guarantee it's worth watching. Also if you didn't like the first season, I highly doubt this will change your outlook on the series, but I still encourage you to give it a try because I love this franchise that much.
