Review of Devilman: Crybaby
Okay, this is my first ever review on MAL because this is the latest anime that i just watched today. First of all, i am not a fan of gore and such but i would still watch them, it's basically just because i hate blood and see body parts scatter here and there but this one was not that disgusting to me. BUT. I can't enjoy it like at all. I've been watching anime since 7 years old so I can say that I know what am I doing with the rates although it still depends heavily on my preference. I skipped most of the episodes, i onlywatch the important scenes that shows the base plotline, because it is THAT boring to me.
The art style is very decent, it does not have any aesthetic which always be the thing that I look up for when I watch anime.
The fighting scenes are not great at all, it looks cranky to be honest. None of the action scenes make you go "wow, that's so cool"
The unimportant ero scenes, oh my goodness, is that where all the budget went to?
The OST are also not my taste.
The plot and characters, oh... i really dont know how to explain these. The plot is so flat and i cant seem to find any character developments in this anime. Akira only cries the whole time to show his humanity side, Ryo is that villain character that you would hate for his reasonings but he's not even that interesting. or unique. Also the unnecessary baton scenes?
The whole thing is just too rushed and plain, the action scenes are not that awesome and the ending is meh.
I feel like the hype was there because it was by Netflix, the director, and I know some people loves to glorify the gore/apocalypse genre cause they think it's cool, it's unique and different. I was hoping that it will entertain me just a bit, but I am utterly disappointed right now.
