{spoilers} It had an Akame Ga Kill like ending so when I give it an 8, please know I don't count the last couple episodes. It leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth which ruins your perceived enjoyment of the rest of the show. The ending reminded me of Pewdiepie because of the whole not having legs thing. I can see why the show is so dividing, however, I was way too tired to dive into the numerous plot holes I encountered such as why does God not do more after wiping out some devils? This time I'm judging the anime mostly by itsmerits than its shortcomings. It's a good watch if you enter it with a more optimistic mentality. I don't advise people to try to dig into the plot holes and seemingly rushed ending if they want to enjoy the show.
7 or 8 out of ten depending on my mindset when thinking about the show. It won't get any higher because of the ending.
However after getting my previous review removed and some time has passed, looking back on the ending I feel as though it held far more weight than the likes of Akame Ga Kill as the relationship built up in the show actually existed. The symbolism of the scene is phenomenal on second viewing. I still hate seeing all the characters I like die but this story doesn't kill them for nothing. Their deaths were going to happen anyway as the earth got split in two. I feel as though the deaths had importance as they were there to represent the pitfalls of humanity. 9/10 if you take time to properly understand the depth to the show. If not 7/10. It depends on your outlook when going into it really.
