Review of Overlord II

If you were a fan of season 1 you may either enjoy this season or be severely disappointed. All the characters return and there are some great arcs for characters who previously did not get enough screen time. Unfortunately, I feel that Madhouse seriously dropped the ball on this one. I know that the studio has undergone a lot of turnover in previous years but this was the first show from them where I really noticed it. The art, timing, animation and sound design just felt sloppy compared to the first season. If you were clamoring to see a return of Overlord I would haveto recommend the light novels which I recently finished. They go a whole lot further in the story and really flesh out the characters a lot more.
