Review of Ghost Hunt

Story: I found the story of Ghost Hunt to great. The synopsis of this Anime doesn't do it any justice. A unique thing about Ghost Hunt, is it focuses more on the scientific search for ghosts. Also, the series does have different cases. Each case is unique, and the series hardly gets boring. One of the more negative things to the series is the romantic side story. The pure drama presented by the romantic side story, in my opinion, is annoying. Oddly enough, this drama later becomes hilarious in a few of the episodes. Whether it was done on purpose, I'm not sure. Art: Theart in this Anime really surprised me. It was well done, and I never found myself asking, "Why is that even there?" One troublesome thing however, is that the characters tend to look similar. I would have preferred more variety.

Also, this Anime does tend to use darker themed art. It enhances the more dramatic scenes for viewers. At times though, there's a great contrast between locations in the series. Some are lighter, and some are darker. It can often be easier to predict the storyline this way.

Sound: The sound in this Anime is actually quite good. The theme really does capture the viewer right away. I had the theme in my head for days though, all through watching this Anime. The music is quite good throughout the whole series, and the sound effects are fantastic.

It might be annoying to some though, that the amount of dialogue changes. There will be scenes of complete dialogue, and then scenes of nothing but silence or static sounds. This is done on purpose, but it can still catch the viewer off guard. The plot does pull the viewer in, and the sound may not even be noticed that much.

Character: I found the characters to be the best part of this Anime. There are so many complex levels to each character. At first, we tend to hate Shibuya Kazuya, because he comes across as cold. As the series progresses however, more is revealed about why that's so. Luckily, there aren't many characters though.

The contrast between each character is amazing, and works rather well. Each character does tend to lean toward another though, and we often see the group off in pairs. This can be extremely annoying, because there is always side drama from this. Each characters unique value to the team though, makes it rather believable.

Enjoyment: I think people will enjoy this Anime, especially if they watch it in the dark. I certainly was never bored with this Anime, and the different cases kept me guessing quite often. If viewers have a high paranormal type interest, this Anime is probably for them.

Overall: Ghost Hunt was a great Anime to watch. For not knowing much about it at first, I'm definitely glad I gave it a shot. The characters are fantastic, the music is great, and the plot stays pretty fresh. I definitely think many viewers will enjoy this Anime.
