Review of Gintama
This is just the beginning of an outstanding comedy show. If you are looking for an original and hilarious comedy show, here you go. And don't think it as just a comedy show it will punch you in your guts when the "feels" part show up when you don't expect them. It has everything you need; action(with really good art), comedy/parody(at its best), drama(as it follows up with the plot you will feel the "feels"), even a little romance (tiny bit) and it also have some good plot twists that will blow your mind. Gintama focuses on random comedy and parodies mostly but we cant sayit doesn't have an actual plot. It has a plot and it is absorbing. It sometimes contains some "just Japanese watchers understand this joke" parts but generally you understand the whole thing and some subtitle writers do good job to explain everything to you, so i recommend you to chose a good subtitle if you don't know Japanese.
As character profiles, they are all unique characters and they all have a kind of hilarious backstory of their own. I don't want to explain all characters here to avoid giving any spoilers so generally all characters have a point to make you crack a laugh moments and also make your guts hurt for a sec moments. Sometimes even the original creator of the series become a character unexpectedly and make you laugh like a baby, that's hilarious.
Art and animations is satisfies you quite enough. You won't need any more animation or better art; Gintoki's dead fish eyes will be enough to burst your laughter out sometimes.
Only downside about this series is just few prologue episodes at the beginning which doesn't show what Gintama really is. So if you couldn't get hooked up from the beginning you should be patient a little and it will pay off with straight out loud laughters as soon as possible.
Since I watched Gintama it changed my whole perspective. I hope it will also change yours and makes you more "carefree but cares when needed" person.
