Review of School Days
Nice Boat! STORY (3): The story follows Makoto Ito, a first-year high school student living with his divorced and unseen mother in the fictional city of Haramima. During his second term, he meets Kotonoha, a cute and shy girl, who happens to share train rides with him to and from campus. After that he meets up with Sekai, who secretly has a crush on him. Of course, I heard that School Days is one of the worst anime most people watches because of the characters. However, I did like the fact that this anime tackles on the moral of cheating. However, that's about it.ART (2):
The animation was too dark and dull. Sometimes it ruins the mood of watching an anime. Take for example Clannad, know when to use dim colors and when not to use it. This anime unfortunately didn't know how to use dim colors. I know dim colors are meant for melodrama scenes.
SOUND (2):
The music is forgettable. None of the songs get stuck in my head for long. In fact, the in-music is too melodramatic for my tastes.
CHARACTER (1):
The characters are all terrible people. The worst character is Makoto Ito. He really cheats on people like Kotonoha and Sekai. Not only that Makoto Ito cheats on other girls as well. I don't think I should talk about it because it's not worth talking about. They are the most fickle-minded characters I have seen.
CONCLUSION (2):
There was a delay in the final episode due to some news about violence in Japan and they play the "Nice Boat" Scene. The ending is basically a cop-out. The creators are desperately trying to make this anime interesting to watch but they failed to do that so they made this ending.
In fact, this anime has nothing interesting except the ending.
I am fine with melodrama anime as long as they are handled properly. But this anime couldn't handle the melodrama elements well enough. Not only that the characters are poorly developed and the ending is just forced.
I give this anime a 2 out of 10.
Lesson learned from this anime: Be faithful to your lover or face penalty. Don't cheat on him or her. Be sure and confident on the relationship.
