Review of Sword Art Online

When i had first watched SAO throughout the first 7 episodes i had actually quite enjoyed it . I had barred myself from finding out any spoilers , and i was actually quite excited to see where the show could go from there because honestly i was invested I wanted to see how they were going to try and find a way out of this nightmare and to my horror from that point on it all went downhill. To be fair SAO isn't the worst anime and its not even horrible. I mean it is just mediocre at best and , that's whyi think its so frustrating because it did have potential to be great but...... Kirito. As i said i actually was enjoying the show until the fucking Yui bullshit and i don't even want to talk about the whole ALO arc. To be fair though visually SAO was pleasing and the soundtrack wasn't bad by any means and , it was actually animated well. This in my opinion is my biggest reason for hating this show so much because if it was just written better it could've easily been one of the greatest anime of this generation, but all we got was a dead horse that we are still beating even in 2019 ...LONG LIVE THE HORSE. Anyway Another thing i absolutely hated is how they did Asuna. Throughout the first arc she was easily the best character and she was reduced to sitting in a fucking birdcage for the WHOLE FUCKING SEASON. I'm not even going to go into detail how disgusting THOSE scenes were with Asuna and I know you know what i'm talking about and, If you don't you will if you watch it but I really recommend not watching it and just skipping past both of these scenes as they are fucking appalling and, those two scenes alone brought this show down fro a 6 to a 4 for me. To put it bluntly I think Reki Kawahara and A-1 Pictures were more concerned about making a profit rather than making an entertaining series and with all of this in mind and with the decade coming to an end I can EASILY say SAO is the biggest disappointment of anime in the 2010's.
